Check that job log using the WRKTCPPTP command and option 8 beside the QESDIAL profile. That should be the best source for information. You should see something like the following: Line Line Job Opt Name Mode Type Status Description Type Name QESDIAL *DIAL *PPP OUTQ QESPPLIN *PPP QTPPPSSN You can do an option 8 to work with the output. Check the job log and see what errors it might indicate. You should see all kinds of stuff in this job log - modem reset, initialization, answer/no answer, etc. There is something about your environment that is bugging me a little and I can't put my finger on it. Any changes made or attempted recently? You might want to go through Operations Navigator and configure an IBM Universal Connection and test it from there. I may be wrong but I don't think you can do PPP against the standard QESLINE description. If you do a WRKLIND on it you should see that it is an *SDLC type. But based on your information that you are providing you are attempting a PPP connection. I think if you do the WRKTCPPTP and check the job log that should give you an indication. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
