I can vouch that OVRPRTF FILE(QPQUPRFIL) PRTTXT('Select parms here') does
work.  In fact, we have our initial signon program automatically do this.
It retrieves the text from the user profile and drops it in the PRTTXT
parameter.  That way, every time a user runs a query, it always prints at
the bottom of the page, the person who ran it.

        you can do this several ways, one that springs to mind is to use
something like OVRPRTF FILE(QPQUPRFIL) PRTTXT('Select parms here') before
you run the query.
Havn't tried this so cannot vouch if it works ok..

Alternatively, you can as suggested change the message text ID.
Best way to do this is not to change the actual system message but use an
override instead:
CRTMSGF    MSGF(QTEMP/QQRYMSG )
ADDMSGD    MSGID(QRX1905) MSGF(QTEMP/QQRYMSG) MSG('Select parms here')
OVRMSGF    MSGF(QQRYMSG ) TOMSGF(QTEMP/QQRYMSG )  
now run query
again, havn't tried this so cannot vouch if it works ok..
