CRTDUPOBJ does more than just create a new file with the data in it. The triggers, referential contraints, journal associations, and all members are also duplicated. As I understand it, more authority is required on CRTDUPOBJ because you are duplicating an object and all its attributes, not just the data in it. Hope that helps. Donald R. Fisher, III Project Manager Roomstore Furniture Company (804) 784-7600 extension 2124 DFisher@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <clip> When using the CRTDUPOBJ command, the user is required to have more than *USE authority: <clip> However, there doesn't seem to be the same restriction when executing the CPYF command specifying CRTFILE(*YES). My question is .... If these two commands are functionally the same (they both end up creating a new file with data in it)... <clip> ...why is MORE authority required when using the CRTDUPOBJ command? <clip>
