I bought a 2600 magazine years ago because I noticed they had an article
on hacking the AS/400. The date of the magazine is Summer, 1995.
Basically it shows all the ways to get into an AS/400 if the security
settings have not been changed from the factory settings. It also says
not to waste your time if the security settings have been set. It covers
Rel. 2 of OS/400. I keep this in a folder in my desk labeled "Security".
Glancing back through it now, it strikes me that not a lot has changed
from what was presented... but a lot of things have been added. I would
offer to copy the article and share it but the magazine is copyrighted and
these people would probably be quick to jump up and scream about their
"rights" being violated. I did use this magazine article as a starting
point to make sure the security settings were what they should be on the
AS/400 we had then and has been the basis of the security settings of all
subsequent AS/400s.
