You can get a format name distinct from the file name. It is not possible 
directly in SQL, but there is a workaround--create the table first with the 
format name as the table name, then rename it to the desired table name. It 
could even be done completely in SQL - there is a RENAME command in SQL:

CREATE TABLE VERN/RFORMAT (FIELD1 CHAR (1 ) NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT);
RENAME TABLE VERN/RFORMAT TO SYSTEM NAME REALFILE

can do it. The format name was not changed when I tried this.

SQL and DDS came from different aquifers - they SHOULD taste different.
