Loading into the image catalog is not the same as loading the PTFs. You 
still need to GO PTF and take option 8. Just specify OPTVRT01 (or whatever 
name) as the device.

The image catalog itself has to be attached (LODIMGCLG) to the virtual 
optical device - have you created that yet? There are instructions in the 
Software Installation manual, as well as under Linux in InfoCenter.
