Yes, by INS I meant the Integrated Net Server.  They were giving them out
almost free when we ordered this box.  In comm resources look for a "File
Server IOA" or something like that.  Mine is a 2890.

I've never tried disconnecting the LTO from the 400 but I've heard that it
can be done.

Ok, dumb question...  Is INS the Integrated Net Server?  And how do I tell
if I have it running on the 400?  Is it part of the base code?

Forgot to mention:  We do not have BRMS.  (Saw that mentioned in a few of
the archive posts.)

You can disconnect the LTO drive from the 400 and use it on the NT server?
Are there specific steps you have to follow to do this?  I.e., power down
the tape drive before disconnnect, stuff like that?  I assume it would be
much faster to backup directly this way than going through the 400?
