I agree with you there.....It was not my call, it literally happened Tuesday
night.  Someone thought they were saving a buck on the purchase price of the
printer and what has really happened is they are locked into a one vendor
solution for the expendable supplies.....

Dell doesn't make any of its own printers. The A920/A960 inkjets are from 
Lexmark. But they made a little change in the cartridge, so that Lexmark 
cartridges don't work, only those sold by Dell. Don't know is this is also 
true of the lasers. It's a little ugly when someone forces you to use ONLY 
their consumables. Fortunately, Dells prices on the inkjet carts is very 
level with places like Staples, etc. Dell is less a manufacturer than a 
distributor these days, even of PCs. Everything is made in China.
