Within IBM's telnet exit programs, there  is a program to delete "old"
virtual devices.

The Remove TELNET Devices Command (RMVDEVD) removes virtual
terminal devices found that match a generic name or type.  The
devices are varied off and deleted if not in use.  Devices are
not in use if they are VARIED OFF, VARIED ON or VARIED ON
PENDING.
