If life gets too difficult coping tape to a Mainframe there is a Mainframe Utility called DITTO and it pretty much copies anything.

I did it years ago exchanging tapes with SuperValu.  The details I
remember
were having to use CPYTOTAP and CPYFRMTAP instead of SAVxxx and RSTxxx.
