This is funny; I was having problems setting up a system printer yesterday.
We just got a Canon iR330 multifunction copy/fax/printer that we need to use
to print system reports.

I forgot about the IBM site listing the information for all the printers, so
the answers posted to your question helped me immediately.

Even after changing the MFRTYPMDL to the "correct" setting per the web site,
I was having the same issue you described.

I had to change the SYSDRVPGM to *IBMSNMPDRV even though my MFRTYPMDL is set
to *HP4. Now it works great!

I hope this helps.

Subject: Printek 4500se on ethernet

Has anyone (successfully) configured a Printek 4500se on ethernet as a
device? All I've been able to find is directions on configuring it as a
remote outq, but we do not want to use a remote outq.

We successfully printed from Windows with the printer configured as a
raw TCP/IP on port 9100.

I've tried various parameters on the MFRTYPMDL with no success. The
typical result is that the document sits at PND for a while, then the
writer ends.

Any ideas?
