If this is truly a one time occasion, depending on what kind of syntax
intermediate layers (oledb etc) allow, you might be able to get away with
simply appending WITH NC (with no commitment) to the end of your INSERT
statement.
For example:

INSERT INTO qgpl/mytable VALUES(1,2,3) WITH NC

This is valid DB2/400 syntax.
