We have the Cisco VPN 3005, and do not experience this issue. I am regularly on a tunnel session for several hours, and have several times had a tunnel stay alive all weekend. The box can be administered via the browser. There is a "Maximum Connect Time" parameter in the "Group" and "User" settings that I believe controls this behavior. We have it set to 0, which means no maximum. Help text for this setting is . . . > Maximum Connect Time > Enter the group's maximum user connection time in minutes. At the end of this > time, the > system terminates the connection. The minimum is 1, and the > maximum is 2147483647 > minutes (over 4000 years). To allow unlimited > connection time, enter 0. There is also an "Idle Timeout" setting byt we have that set to 30 seconds, so it seems to not be relevant to this behavior. Hope this helps.
