I think it is a *very* valid comparison between M$ and *GNU/Linux*. If Intel-based GNU/Linux distributions had been available at the same time that Micro$oft was starting up, I doubt that Micro$oft would still be in existence.

If IBM had marketed OS/2 as "Everything Windows/95 Wants To Be-- Without The Wait," Windoze/95 wouldn't have had a chance!
