1) Keep your upgrade, and your ptf's, in two different image catalogs. No big deal to LODIMGCLG OPTION(*UNLOAD), load the new one and fire away. 2) As far as how to upgrade from the image catalog, RTFM. It's in there. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/ic2924/info/rzahc/prepareimagecatalog.htm#prepareimagecatalog Rob Berendt -- Group Dekko Services, LLC Dept 01.073 PO Box 2000 Dock 108 6928N 400E Kendallville, IN 46755 http://www.dekko.com Chris Bipes <chris.bipes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 12/01/2004 02:19 PM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To midrange-l <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject Image catalog We are upgrading our 820 from V5R2 to V5R3 and want to use the image catalog. I have done PTF's this way and understand how to create the image catalog, add entries from CD and load it. But I have 2 questions on the process. First, can one load the Cume, and groups into the same image catalog as the upgrade CDs? Second question, how does one start the upgrade process from the image catalog? Christopher K.
