Why don't they push them into pdf files? Check out the Batch Report Server product from RJS. I've got clients who are doing just that. At certain times throughout the year, they put those reports onto a pair of CD's and hand one of them to the user. The other goes into off-site storage. www.rjssoftware.com Paul Nelson Arbor Solutions, Inc. 708-670-6978 Cell pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx "Doug Hart" <DougHart@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 12/03/2004 03:18 PM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion To: "'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion'" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc: Subject: RE: Does Go Restore Option 21 restore ptf's??? That would be my stance too. But my client has spool files going back to 2000 (likely the date of their last migration) that they insist be kept. I tried to tell them of the job overhead. Just bad management. --- Doug Hart -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, December 03, 2004 8:19 AM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: Does Go Restore Option 21 restore ptf's??? We just tell them they will be losing their spool files. They shouldn't count on them for anything. Our corporate policy is to not back up any spool files. And to delete all that are over a certain number of days - no exceptions. As long as we notify them - they accept it. But the time we forgot to notify them - hoo boy!
