I seriously suggest you look for a different job. They will be hauling this guy off to the loony bin soon after he goes on the rooftop and starts shooting at the crows thinking they are "black helicopters". They are much more likely to bring down the other platforms with virus and DOS attacks. But if you want to play along until you find that new job then you could try converting to VARPG. I hear tell that it can even generate JAVA code from the RPG. There are other products, like baby/400 http://www.calsw.com/calsw/ HP had a product at one time to port S/36 over to their HP/3000 Unix. That is the one reason that IBM ran a full page ad for the iSeries when HP/3000 went casters up. It is an in-house grown RPGLE application. Does IBM offer an RPGLE compiler for their pSeries systems? We will still have our current iSeries based system but also offer a second system running with a different OS. The owner feels that if terrorist were to ever hack iSeries and bring then down world wide, we would still have our secondary system running. He does not like any single point of failure, which is why we have two locations across the US. What other systems can I run DB2 and RPGLE on? Ok quit laughing 8-) he is serious. Christopher K.
