Unit-testing service programs

Is there a better way to test service programs than building a HLL
wrapper program or REXX procedure?  I use OPTIONS(*NOPASS:*OMIT) in my
parameters lists, call the service program without any parameters, and
use Debug to change parameter list values.

It would be very nice if commands supported service programs; then I'd
be able to build a test script which in turn would let me execute the
same test multiple times.

Otherwise I guess I'll write a program to create a CL program+command
wrapper based on the prototype.
