I've also got Comcast and I can get through to my FTP server PC. Although
my IP address isn't static I can say that it hasn't changed since I've
hooked it up. Check the manual for your D-Link router about opening ports
and/or port forwarding. It will also probably show your "dynamic" IP
address assigned by Comcast.

Who is your cable modem company? I've got Comcast, and they tell me that I
can't get a static IP address for the modem. If there's a way to tunnel
through anyway, I'd like to hear from somebody. I've got a D-Link router,
and I've been unsuccessful in getting through from the outside.

Larry:

Thank you so much for your help! I got another power cord and the box is
up and running!

Yes, I would love to have a copy of that IBM book you mentioned. Please
email it to: njas400pgmr at yahoo dot com.

If you would not mind, do you think you can help me setup my AS400 to work
with my Linksys router and cable modem? I have done this in the past with
someone's help, but unfortunately I did not get a chance to take notes!
I need to set it up with my router and cable modem so that I can have my
friends access the AS400 remotely from their homes.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much
for all your help!

Ash.
