JC A PC connected to the HMC port will act as an interface to ASMI Look for ASMI in de manuals. Thru this interface you can IPL the i5 from remote. My alert led is turned off and I have that port connected. Don't really know when the light went out, I thought it was a full reboot of the machine, but I did that using ASMI. =================================================== Met vriendelijke groet, Inter Access BV Eduard van den Braken Technisch Consultant iSeries =================================================== The information contained in this message may be confidential and is intended to be exclusively for the addressee. But still first start, the alert led remains on. The IBM partner who helped me by starting told me it's because we have no HMC connected and led can be turned off by simulating this HMC by a PC connected directly to the HMC port. Can somebody help ? Thanks. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
