You can also use REXX on the AS/400/iSeries to do the same thing, using FTP, and REXX provides more capability than CL(it has been claimed that CL is catching up to REXX, vis-a-vis capability, in V5R3 but don't know yet). I use REXX all the time for automating file transfers plus creating a log file to capture the FTP transfer output activities. Take care, Dave Arizona
