I know what you mean Steve, but I think I would phrase it differently. I
think these programmers have plenty of business knowledge. What they
don't have, and what (I think) they don't necessarily need, is specific
vertical industry knowledge. This isn't necessarily true for employees,
but it can be for contractors. I've worked in a bunch of different
industries, from flowers to furniture, and I don't know those 
industries. 


Yeah you are right Michael, I really meant specific industry knowledge. 
Employee's will, in time, get to know the specific "business" they work for, 
the real point I was trying to make and making a complete hash of it was that 
so many talented people are excluded from jobs because the people who are 
looking seem to think you must have specific knowledge of "left handed sky blue 
pink widgets" to work for them and this is not necessarily the case.
