Once again, Steve,

The only thing that differentiates an interactive job from a batch job is 
its connection to a display file. Display files are not threadsafe and 
never will be. It is for this reason and this reason only that IBM will 
not make an interactive job multi-thread capable.

IBM has been telling us in many ways for a long time that we should ditch 
display file technology and, in turn, interactive jobs. Time to do it.

i5 ad on wabc radio in nyc this morning






WABC is the most listened to station by middle age white guys in the
NYC area.  The i5 ad this morning touted the system's ability to run
any OS.  no mention of multiple threads in interactive jobs.
