Hi Hari Yes, use CHGVAR to move the field to a numeric field and monitor for message CPF0818. If the message is found then it cannot be converted to numeric. Any trailnig blanks in the character field will convert to leading zeros in the numeric field. Hope it helps All the best Jonathan www.astradyne-uk.com -----Original message----- From: "Matchrefree@xxxxxxxxx" matchrefree@xxxxxxxxx Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2005 12:07:18 +0000 To: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Doubt in CL > Hi > > Is there any possible way there in CL to know if the data in a char field is > completely numeric or not. > > > Thanks > Hari > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
