I agree -- if it is only for archive purposes -- ftp the save file to a PC somewhere -- burn it to CD -- then FTP it back when needed..... Why not just FTP the save file to a stream file on any system he chooses? It can always be FTP'd back, and it could even then be zipped which usually yields pretty good compression for save files.
