To change the orientation of a Word document, I must go into the
document with Word, then select Page Setup and change the orientation.
On the iSeries, I simply issue an OVRPRTF command from the command line
before running my application, or I call a program which does an OVRPRTF
with OVRSCOPE(*JOB).

How is the former an "application front end" while the latter is not?
What in the world is an "application front end"?  This must be another
example of how "the real IT world" views things.

Again, I suggest dumping the iSeries.  The two of you will be better off
without each other.
