You have to change the name format. Name format 0 is the traditional 
library/file syntax, and name format 1 is IFS-style.

Since Windows doesn't have alternative naming formats, you want to change 
it on the LOCAL side (client side) of the connection, only. To do that you 
can run the following FTP command:

   LOCSITE NAMEFMT 1

If you ever connect to an iSeries instead of a Windows server, you could 
also change it on BOTH sides at the same time like this:

   NAMEFMT 1

or change only the server with:

   SITE NAMEFMT 1

But, again, in your case you want to use the LOCSITE variant.  Good luck!
