I'd look at some form of EDI. No matter what format you use, some one will
not be able to open it. If you must, I'd use PDF files. The reader is a
free download.

The issue becomes one of what format to use.  Word is not as universal as
MS
would have you believe.  Of course the other issue is that most companies
will then print out the document as their systems require written
documentation.



Would it make more sense to work towards paperless billing & paying, as the
utilities are beginning to do now?
