The IFS is not a part of the database, so SQL cannot access that data. You would need to import it into the QSYS file system, which implicitly makes it a database table. For Q&D, use Client Access File transfer and click on the "Create AS/400 Database file" button (far right). This wizard will analyze the data and create a file to match the data format.
