Kenneth, >I can't do this without breaking all the processes that use CRTDUPOBJ.... Why not create your own copy of CRTDUPOBJ and place it higher than QSYS in the library list. Have it use a CPP with adopted authority, optionally validate the object source and destination, then call QSYS/CRTDUPOBJ with the appropriate values? Doug
