Not so much integration as administration. 

Yes, i5/OS will not perform as well as a file server as Windows.  I
think pretty much everyone here knows that.  But our environment is not
that of a traditional file server.  8,000 images or so per month will be
uploaded via the web-based app.  They will be served by the app as
requested by the users.  No editing or anything.  Consider them a bunch
of static files in a web site if you will.  If they're viewed often
enough, the web server will likely wind up caching them (but I really
doubt it).
