For our ERP implementations, we tend to keep two years + current year YTD online and archive off the rest. So if the estimates are true (hah!) and the scale doesn't change we'll be storing up to 300K documents and 30-40GB disk. I plan on rolling the target directory every month so no one IFS dir gets too many entries: <somehomedirectory>/images/2005/01 <somehomedirectory>/images/2005/02 Etc. The ERP stores the full link so that should work fine and it makes archiving easy.
