I think it's appendix D or E you are talking about.  I've used that 
several times over the years as we did hardware migrations.  And I preach 
using that manually religiously.  However, if someone mucked up the 
restore like was done in my situation I was wondering how best to get some 
stuff back in sync without starting over from scratch.  But I'll review 
that manual again.
