<<(Whomever said something about SQL Server 2005... forget it!! >> I just went back to his email. It appears that he is a Microsoft employee. I have been told, but haven't checked for myself, that CR has an ODBC driver. Given CR's popularity, I wouldn't doubt that they supply this with their software. Somebody's gonna have to get this under control. What are you going to do when they figure out that there are ways to modify the data on the iSeries with no audit trail? It's pretty easy to move a decimal point here and there if the proper controls are not in place. Heck, it can even be done via Client Acces file transfer utilities when nobody's looking. Whatever you do, make sure you document all of this and make your objections known to the right people. That way, when (not if) the doodoo hits the fan, you don't get any on you.
