Maybe there shouldn't be a 'bazillion normal operations' that turn it
on, if it is suppose to " grab you by the short hairs and demand
immediate attention."

We too see it alot on our 520 but not on our 570.  Then again the 520's 
light is more visible than a 570's.  There's about a bazillion normal 
operations that can turn it on on a 520.  I really hate to be numbed to 
something that's supposed to grab you by the short hairs and demand 
immediate attention.
