The MAX keyword certainly did the trick...I ran the report for the entire 
fiscal year and although it was 18000 pages long (no I did not send it to 
the printer - I queue all reports for me) it pulled the appropriate 
data....thanks Peter and Vernon, your help was apprecaited as was 
everyone's.......
