Yes, we often ask that question too - does anyone know?? (BPCS opens a LOT of files...)
And I second your plea about F11!!

Subject: DSPJOB Option 14 (Display Open Files)

All,

Does anyone know what specifies the order of the files displayed on the
Display Open Files screen (DSPJOB Option 14)? Is it the order they were
opened, or is it most recently used, or what? And is this information
available using an API, where I can re-order the open files
alphabetically?

Background: I have a situation where I might have >100 open files, and
I'd like to be able to easily see if one is open, rather than paging up
and down through screens of files. Also, it would be nice to be able to
use F11 without having the subfile reposition - or maybe IBM could
simply fix that...

Thanks,

Rory
