Barbara / Bruce, DSPPGM shows the minimum and maximum parameters that can be passed I had forgotten that this could be specified in a program. I'm too used to dealing with RPG programs, where the *PGM object doesn't have exact parm count constraints for the system to validate. Thanks for the corrections. Doug
