Another option, if you have the HSM feature of BRMS and a tape 
library, utilize this to move the data portion of the object to an 
archive tape that is kept mounted.  If a user or program requests 
the item at a future date, BRMS will fetch the archived version 
from tape.

This can be automated to archive anything that is over a set number 
of days old.  Most customers I work with utilize 1 full year or 18 
months as the criteria to catch things that are only used for year 
end or other cyclical processing.
