YUPO! Actually, migrating from iSeries to pSeries/AIXL/Oracle is really easy to do...done it several times... just plan on losing all your existing code base and hope you're happy with the new software you're getting, but then if you're on JDE or Lawson you probably won't see much of a user interface differences.

I know a few folks around DC metro that if they could find a nice job in perhaps a smaller shop that's migrating from OS/400 to AIXL/Oracle and would hire them, they'd jump on it faster than you see iSeries ads disappear from the Wall Street Journal
after COMMON ends! And, they're not sure they're stuck to staying in DC metro.

Don in DC

I know I'm late in responding but I have to.

The answer is, to provide a migration path from the iSeries to the
pSeries, if at all possible. Even IBM Rochester realizes the iSeries is
on a slow but sure decline. But they don't want to lose you as a
hardware customer, IBM's main business, so they will move you to the
pSeries where the dominate database engine will be Oracle.

Sorry, but its the truth.
