UPDHST(*NO) was designed to be used in a SAVCHGOBJ environment, where you wanted to send a library offsite and not effect your backup strategy. IMHO, this will not save you very much time. PM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> Hi guys! I am in a project were backup speed is crucial. I am doing SAVLIB over 27 libraries but one of the guys here told me that if I change the parameter UPDHST to be *NO, it will increase the backup speed dramatically. I am doing a regular backup of the libraries on tape every single day and this backup event is for one shot only, so I was wondering if I can give it a try... Any pros/cons/comments on this?
