Had a analyst try to remove a box of tapes from a 3582 whilst in the 
middle of WRKTAPCTG.  Job is hosed.  Tried the following
- Cannot vary off the TAPMLB01.
- ENDJOB
- ENDJOBABN (after waiting the 10 minutes)
- STRSST Concurrent Maintenance.  Cannot IPL the 5704 fiber card.  Cannot 
IPL the 2843 because of Catch22 - the tape device needs to be varied off 
first.

IBM is down to "just reboot it".  Any other suggestions?


So if I give 24 hours notice does that count as a scheduled downtime? Even 
though the next previously scheduled IPL is in 8 weeks (we just finished 
the last one last weekend)?
