What is the print solution you are using?

Is your spool file defined using dds? If so, can you view the source of the
file?

Thanks for your answer!

No, the input before the CPYSPLF command does not contain the
"+" control character. So the input looks like my second sample below.

But after the CPYSPLF command, we see this funny separation of one line 
(and even one word) in two lines with the "+" control character.
This notation indeed is correct, but our printing solution does
unfortunately not support this "+" control character.

So for some reasons, CPYSPLF will make this funny stuff, but we don't know
why.

It would appear that someone who created the printer file issued a suppress
spacing instruction into the printer line.  The "+" it the control character
to suppress spacing.  The effect is that the printed output is correct but
when a cpysplf command is processed two records are created....

After a change of our mainframe printing software, we suffer the following
problem on our customer's AS/400 (V4.R3.M0 L00):
 
The output is sent to the AS/400 spool and looks still correct.
 
Our customer then uses the CPYSPLF function to convert the spool file for
further processing. He uses the option CTLCHAR = *FCFC
 
On the results of CPYSPLF we see repeatedly the following:

0   00401000   Warenaufwand Diverse                  45,60-   0,00
               Total War                                                <==
+                       enwert                       45,60-   0,00      <== 
***********************************************************************

... instead of:


***********************************************************************
0   00401000   Warenaufwand Diverse                  45,60-   0,00
               Total Warenwert                       45,60-   0,00      <== 
***********************************************************************

Does anybody know, under which circumstances the CPYSPLF will make the two
lines with the + print control character (suppress space) ?
