HI Brianin addition to the other things people have suggested you try I have always found specifying FROMRCD(1) on the CPYF command a useful strategy to improve copy file performance. This will cause the copy to be performed sequentially rather than in key order.
Hope this helps Regards Evan Harris At 03:51 a.m. 7/11/2005, you wrote:
Hi All, What is the quickest way to copy a PF from one source to another? I have two physical files that are about 2.5 - 3.5 million records that I would like to copy. However, if I do the standard cpyf command, it takes hours to copy the files. Is there any easy (and quick!) way to do this operation that won't tie up my server (and my time) for hours? Thanks!
