iSeries Access for Windows, Version 5.3

I would like to install the iSeries Access for Windows, Version 5.3 
(specifically the .NET Managed Provider) but our operating system is currently 
at V5R2.   Do we have to be at V5R3 of the operating system in order to install 
the .Net Managed Provider?
