Within a .PDF file created from an iSeries spool file (straight text - no graphics/colors), I would like to: 1) change selected text strings to display as the color Red in the .PDF document. 2) allow the users to use the Commenting function in Adobe Reader Does anyone know if these can be accomplished, and if so, what code I would need to add to the .PDF file to get these to occur?
They probably can be accomplished but the simplest solution may be to simply use a pdf editor (like the full version of Adobe Acrobat) to highlight those parts you want. If you want to accomplish this programmatically, download the PDF specification from:
http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/pdf/index_reference.htmland read up on color spaces and color naming. A pdf that uses plain text for the content instead of encoding it will be easier to work with.
