You have a challenge here...IBM didn't plan to support Windows XP in V4R4 Client Access Express-V4R4 predates XP by several years. Of course, if you could obtain a copy of V5R1 CAE, it would work fine with Windows XP and V4R4 of OS/400, but this would NOT be a legal solution if you don't have a legal copy of V5R1...
(But I'm sure you're knowledgable about licensing and royalties, since you work for SonyBMG)
BTW, are you sure it's not a Rootkit problem??? (lol) <Sony and the EC vie for Internet Villain award> http://news.zdnet.co.uk/internet/security/0,39020375,39241843,00.htm Regards, Steve----- Original Message ----- From: <>
To: <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, December 14, 2005 11:29 AM Subject: Client Access Express + Windows XP - excel addin Our office is using Client Access Express for Windows version 4 Release 4 Modification 0 However, after everyone moved to Windows XP (from Windows 2000), bugs started appearing with Client Access. It basically works, but for bigger files, it cuts off at line 16351 and gives an error message. I have confirmed that the files I am transferring do not exceed the Excel maximum of 65000 lines. This bug occurs only when using the Excel Add-In version of Client Access. Other bugs have been occurring with the add-in as well... Is there a more recent version of Client Access that you guys use? Have you experienced any problems with Client Access on Windows XP? Any advice would be appreciated....
