I'll have to ask our administrator whether the weekly SAVSYS backup increased. I'd say probably not since we were actually using group profiles before, except every user was assigned to the same group profile that owned everything. Talk about a disaster waiting to happen... We haven't run into any object ownership problems, but we don't do much with the IFS, either. As an alternative workaround, I would suggest placing the group profiles on the authorization lists, instead of the individual users. That would still eliminate the need to maintain the individual authorization lists except when adding a new group. There is the limitation that only 16 group profiles may be assigned to a user profile, but that's not a problem for us. Donald R. We tried that. That, alone and by itself, increased the length of our SAVSYS from 4 minutes to 44 minutes. Verified by a team of IBMers dialed into our machine. Then we also ran into the limitation that 1 single user, or group profile, can only own so many objects. <clip>
