I'll probably enjoy those choices in the future... the 'all nighter'
installs are so rare at this point, though that I don't mind them once in a

When I migrated from our 830 to the i5 last month, I was on site long
enough to verify the i5 was reading the 830's tape.  I left the HMC up
with the console running the restore.  Then I went home & reconnected to
the console (shared mode) and ran the rest of the restores from there.

I'm not so keen as to using it for a system console even.  Sure was nice

to use the 5250 part of iSeries Access from home to connect to my HMC's
shared connection and run my RCLSTG, IPL, etc from home while wearing my

pajamas.
