Glenn,

Just a question. Who picked up the tab for Skip? PMSA or COMMON?

Subject: RE: suggestion for COMMON education delivery

     Jim -

We (PMSA, the LUG in the Seattle area) were very happy with the results
of our partnership with COMMON in November 2005 when we sponsored an all
day class in place of our normal session. The COMMON iSeries education
"All You Need to Know About SQL", presented by Mr. Skip Marchesani, was
one of our better attended sessions and I believe our LUG had more
people turn out than any other.

Based on the feedback, this appears to be a great way to get a more
in-depth educational experience to our members. We've even talked about
multi-day classes or trying to find resources for a 'lab' type of class.
This way the education comes to us and people will find attending a
local one or two day class cheaper and easier to fit into their
     schedules.

So, keep the ideas coming. We in the Seattle area look forward to more
of these types of educational opportunities.

Subject: Re: COMMON slated to change education delivery in 2007

     Folks:

While it is true that COMMON is looking to find more, better ways to
deliver educational content, we are furiously planning Fall 2006 and
Spring 2007 already. The message here is, we are looking for more
     better
ways to deliver what you are asking from COMMON. Not every one can go
     to
a conference every year, much less two of them, so we have to find a way

to reach those folks too! COMMON is here to stay, and will continue to
deliver educational content not only in some of the traditional ways,
     but
also in new exciting ways. Stay tuned.......

In the mean time, why not come to Minneapolis and see what great stuff
there will be! If you check out the grid, the V5R4 content sessions
     will
have a watermark showing that so you can get the best information right
from the folks out of Rochester! Most of the business partners that
     have
been involved with the beta program have already updated their material
     as
     well.
